Serving Satellite-Derived and Numerical Model Forecasting Services and Products needed by users.

 

 

Stream provides an intermediate platform dedicated to data fields covering the Maltese Islands and its vicinity, channelling added value information from satellite data.

These web-based products and services are spread over a number of prototype examples and are additional to those that the project is setting up in the form of an integrated service delivered on a user-friendly mobile and tablet application compatible to both Android and iOS systems. These information services are customised to user needs with the intention of enhancing the level of use and application by local users, including the citizen level, to facilitate the integration of such information into daily endeavours.

ROSARIO Malta Marine Forecast

Predictions of Sea Temperature, Currents and Salinity for the Maltese Islands and Extended Area This is a sequel to the service initiated in 2001 by the Physical Oceanography Unit within the MFSPP and MFSTEP EU IVth Framework Programme projects. Forecast fields at high resolution (1/72 Deg ≈ 1.25 km) are provided in the form of hourly plots and animations for five consecutive days. Knowing how the sea conditions will change to anticipate and plan marine activities.
